Adjust Your Apple Cinema Display Brightness
The very first time I was looking to adjust the brightness of my Cinema Display, I was puzzled that it wouldn’t work using the brightness buttons on my keyboard. Somehow I knew I was missing something, as the keyboard of my MacBook Air only has one pair of buttons, and how would it know which display I wanted to adjust, the Air’s or the display’s.
But what about the external keyboard? Shouldn’t that be able to brighten the external monitor and make my day?
How to adjust Apple cinema display brightness?
Well, the answer is sweet and short. Simply plug in the USB cable thats coming from the display and use the brightness up an down buttons (F1/F2) on the Apple keyboard.
Every so often it amazes me how little things don’t work and are not clearly documented. It’s such an easy fix, if we just knew it. Very much like resetting the wireless bluetooth keyboard. And the Cinema Display is such a high quality monitor, I enjoy working on it every single day.

what monitor? Cinema Display is a monitor.
And if you have it plugged into your Apple Mackbook Pro, it’s fn+ctrl+f1 or f2.
